Schedule: Monday–Thursday 11 AM–7 PM + at least one Saturday/month
Starting Salary: $44,000.00

About the Role
Bridgeport Public Library is seeking a dynamic and service-oriented Library Services Specialist to join our team. This position focuses on delivering outstanding customer service while supporting patrons in accessing a variety of library resources and services. You’ll play a pivotal role in facilitating digital literacy, passport and notary services, and community outreach—including home delivery services.

This is a hands-on, tech-forward position perfect for someone who enjoys helping others navigate both technology and public services.

Key Responsibilities
•Assist library patrons in person and by appointment with computers, devices, research, and job search tools
•Provide one-on-one and group training on library software and online resources
•Maintain expertise in online resource access, appointment scheduling systems, and library technologies
•Coordinate and deliver passport acceptance and notary public services
•Serve as primary contact for home delivery services and assist with van deliveries
•Troubleshoot software and equipment issues; coordinate with vendors as needed
•Analyze usage data and make recommendations regarding library subscriptions
•Support scheduling software operations and manage appointment availability
•Serve as backup at the library Help Desk and contribute to team operations

Minimum Qualifications
•Strong computer and software skills (troubleshooting, Microsoft Office, databases)
•Demonstrated ability to teach others how to use technology and online tools
•Effective interpersonal and communication skills (in person and via phone)
•Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and multitasking ability
•Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
•Valid West Virginia Driver’s License

Additional Skills & Knowledge
•Knowledge of public library systems, services, and policies•
Comfort with office equipment and basic cash handling procedures
•Ability to maintain professionalism and adapt in a fast-paced environment
•Strong organizational and prioritization skills

Physical Requirements
•Must be able to lift/move items up to 25 lbs
•Ability to perform physical activities including bending, walking, kneeling, and climbing
•Primarily indoor work environment within the library setting
